Best AI shopping assistants (2026)

By TwelveTabs · Updated

There is no single best one: the right pick depends on what you are buying and where. TwelveTabs is one of six below, and for three of the jobs here another tool fits better. We list each by its maker's own description, read on October 11, 2026, with the link. We have not ranked them.

The comparison

Alexa for Shopping (Amazon)

Calls itself "your personalized, agentic AI assistant on Amazon," which brings together Rufus and Alexa+. Amazon announced it on May 13, 2026, for US customers in the Amazon Shopping app and website, with no Prime membership needed. Amazon

Pick it when: you want an assistant that knows your Amazon orders and preferences, and can reorder or build a cart.

ChatGPT shopping research (OpenAI)

A ChatGPT experience that asks questions and builds a personalized buyer's guide. OpenAI announced it on November 24, 2025, for logged-in users on the Free, Go, Plus and Pro plans. OpenAI

Pick it when: the item is not only on Amazon, or you want a wide comparison with trade-offs across stores.

Vetted

Describes itself as "a shopping assistant that does your research for you" by analyzing Reddit, YouTube, user reviews and expert articles, and comparing stores for the lowest price. Apps for iOS and Android. Vetted

Pick it when: you trust Reddit and YouTube opinion as much as star ratings.

Phia

Its App Store listing calls it an AI shopping agent that compares prices across retail and secondhand sites, and applies coupons at checkout. Free, iPhone only on that listing. App Store

Pick it when: you are buying fashion and want the cheapest price, new or secondhand.

CamelCamelCamel

Calls itself "a free Amazon price tracker, alerting you to good deals on products you love," with price history charts and price drop alerts. CamelCamelCamel

Pick it when: you already know the exact product and are waiting for a lower price.

TwelveTabs

A free AI shopping agent for Amazon that analyzes the listings, reviews, and more to find the best match. It drops sponsored results and names one best match with the reason. What it is

Pick it when: you do not know which product to buy yet, and want a best match plus alternatives from Amazon's catalog.

Where each one is weaker

  • Alexa for Shopping is made by the store that sells you the product. TwelveTabs is independent of Amazon, but it does not know your orders.
  • ChatGPT, Vetted and Phia are not tied to one store, so they can send you elsewhere. TwelveTabs searches the US Amazon store only.
  • CamelCamelCamel tracks prices. It does not help you choose a product.
  • TwelveTabs is an AI model: it can misread a listing or miss a better product. It is a starting point, not a verdict.

How to choose

  1. Know the exact product, want a lower price? Use a price tracker.
  2. Buying fashion? Use a tool built for fashion prices.
  3. Not sure what to buy, and happy buying on Amazon? Run a free search on TwelveTabs, then check its pick against one other tool above.
