A sheet that its listing says cleans up to 100 small loads or 50 medium loads per 50-count box, uses the same type of cleaning ingredients as the maker's liquid detergent and has Quick Dissolve technology for HE machines. - **A long list of ingredients it leaves out:** The Clean People Laundry Detergent Sheets. A sheet whose listing says it has no 1,4 dioxane, no SLS or SLES, no ethoxylated alcohols, no optical brighteners and no synthetic dyes, works in top loaders, front loaders and HE machines, and comes in paper packaging. - **Half-strip dosing for small loads:** Tru Earth Laundry Detergent Sheets. A sheet described as gentle for sensitive skin, with no measuring and no plastic jug, which CNN Underscored says needs only half a strip for small loads and works in HE machines. - **Rapid-dissolve sheets for cold water:** Sheets Laundry Club Detergent Sheets. A fragrance-free sheet with Rapid Dissolve Technology that its listing says dissolves in all water temperatures including cold, ultra-concentrated and made for HE machines, in a 50-count box that covers 50 medium loads. - **The widest range of scents and pack sizes:** Earth Breeze Laundry Detergent Sheets. Premeasured sheets that the listing says work in all washing machines, are dermatologist-tested and hypoallergenic and replace the plastic jug, sold in fresh, fragrance-free and other scents and in several pack sizes. - **A 200-load fragrance-free box:** Sudstainables Laundry Detergent Sheets. A fragrance-free box of pre-measured sheets that its listing says dissolve instantly in hot or cold water, are gentle enough for baby clothes and sensitive skin and suit travel, camping, RVs and dorms. Our top pick is the **[ARM & HAMMER 5-in-1 Power Sheets Laundry Detergent](https://twelvetabs.com/reviews/best-laundry-detergent-sheets/#pick-1)**, a sheet from a familiar detergent maker with Quick Dissolve technology for HE machines. We read 120 Amazon result cards for laundry detergent sheets, compared 10 finalists and kept six sheets and strips that differ in dissolving, ingredients and pack size. We quote each feature only as its listing text states it. The [Clean People](https://twelvetabs.com/reviews/best-laundry-detergent-sheets/#pick-2) list the ingredients they leave out, and [Tru Earth](https://twelvetabs.com/reviews/best-laundry-detergent-sheets/#pick-3) is dosed by the half strip. [Sheets Laundry Club](https://twelvetabs.com/reviews/best-laundry-detergent-sheets/#pick-4) is built to dissolve in cold water. [Earth Breeze](https://twelvetabs.com/reviews/best-laundry-detergent-sheets/#pick-5) has the most scents and pack sizes, and [Sudstainables](https://twelvetabs.com/reviews/best-laundry-detergent-sheets/#pick-6) is a 200-load fragrance-free box. One popular listing is not a pick, because its reviews describe a liquid detergent. ## How to choose laundry detergent sheets Good Housekeeping and CNN Underscored both tested sheets against each other. These are their findings, not ours. - **Expect less than the best liquids.** Good Housekeeping says many sheets now include enzymes, but overall they still do not perform as well as the best liquid and pod detergents, and tough stains are best treated with a pre-wash spray. - **Ingredients.** Good Housekeeping says most detergents clean with surfactants and stain-fighting enzymes such as amylase, lipase and protease. CNN Underscored checks each brand's ingredient list and notes when a brand's own packaging leaves it out. - **Loads, not sheets.** Check how many sheets a load takes. The [ARM & HAMMER Power Sheets](https://twelvetabs.com/reviews/best-laundry-detergent-sheets/#pick-1) listing says a 50-count box cleans up to 100 small loads or 50 medium loads, and CNN Underscored says [Tru Earth](https://twelvetabs.com/reviews/best-laundry-detergent-sheets/#pick-3) needs half a strip for loads under about seven pounds. - **Cold water.** Good Housekeeping says every sheet it compared dissolved fully in the machine after a full cycle, and all but one dissolved fully in warm and cold water in a container. - **How to use them.** Good Housekeeping says to put the sheet in the drum, not the liquid tray, and to keep it dry: do not handle it with wet hands or store it somewhere humid. - **Scented or fragrance-free.** Good Housekeeping says many sheets come in both. Check the scent shown on the page, because one listing often covers several scents. - **Green claims.** Good Housekeeping warns about sweeping eco-friendly claims and suggests paper packaging, a look at the brand's website and certifications such as the USDA Certified Biobased Product label. ## Our picks in detail ### 1. ARM & HAMMER 5-in-1 Power Sheets Laundry Detergent: best familiar brand in sheet form **Why it made the list** - Its listing says a 50-count box cleans up to 100 small loads or 50 medium loads. - It says the sheets contain the same type of cleaning ingredients as the maker's liquid detergent. - Quick Dissolve technology is described as good for HE machines, and the scents include Fresh Linen and Fragrance Free. **Drawbacks** - Amazon's own summary is mixed on dissolving and residue. - The listing text we read does not mention cold-water dissolving. **Watch for this:** Three more listings share this page's total: other scents and counts of the same sheets. **Skip it if** you want the listing to name the ingredients it leaves out. ### 2. The Clean People Laundry Detergent Sheets: best for a long list of ingredients it leaves out **Why it made the list** - Its listing says the sheets have no 1,4 dioxane, no SLS or SLES, no ethoxylated alcohols, no optical brighteners and no synthetic dyes, and the list continues past the text we read. - It works in top loaders, front loaders and HE machines, per the listing. - The packaging is paper, with no plastic jug, and the scents include a fragrance-free version. **Drawbacks** - Amazon's own summary is mixed on dissolving and residue, with reports of incomplete dissolving and spots on clothes. - The listing says the 96 count may have varying packaging. **Watch for this:** Six more listings share this page's total: scents and the 32 and 96 counts of one sheet. **Skip it if** you want the listing to say how it dissolves in cold water. ### 3. Tru Earth Laundry Detergent Sheets: best for half-strip dosing **Why it made the list** - CNN Underscored says half a strip handles a small load and that the strips dissolve in water within about 30 seconds. - CNN Underscored also says they are low-sudsing and made for HE machines. - The listing calls them gentle for sensitive skin, with no measuring and no plastic jug, and the scents include a fragrance-free version. **Drawbacks** - CNN Underscored notes that the Environmental Working Group scored the ingredients a C, and it names asthma and respiratory concerns as a reason to check. - Amazon's own summary is mixed on residue and on value. **Watch for this:** The page shows a 64 count while the title says 128 loads, which fits half-strip dosing. One more listing, in an unscented version, shares the total. **Skip it if** an ingredient score matters more to you than convenience. ### 4. Sheets Laundry Club Detergent Sheets: best rapid-dissolve sheets for cold water **Why it made the list** - Its listing names Rapid Dissolve Technology and says the sheets dissolve in all water temperatures, even cold. - A 50-count box covers 50 medium loads, per the listing, and the sheets are ultra-concentrated and made for HE machines. - The packs are recyclable and the listing says there is no plastic bottle waste. **Drawbacks** - Amazon's own summary is mixed on dissolving, with some saying the sheets do not dissolve well in cold water. - The listing text we read names no certification. **Watch for this:** A Fresh Linen listing of the same sheets carries this page's total too. **Skip it if** you need a listing that names an independent certification. ### 5. Earth Breeze Laundry Detergent Sheets: best for the widest range of scents and sizes **Why it made the list** - Its listing says the sheets are premeasured, compatible with all washing machines, dermatologist-tested and hypoallergenic. - The scent menu includes fresh, fragrance-free and seasonal choices, and a 180-load pack is sold under another listing. - The sheets replace a plastic jug, per the listing. **Drawbacks** - Amazon's own summary is mixed on residue and value, with reports of white residue on dark clothes. - The listing says production is moving to a Kentucky facility, and a critical snippet we read says a new sheet weighs half as much, so versions may differ. **Watch for this:** Four more listings share this page's total, so a version change can sit inside one number. **Skip it if** you want one fixed formula and sheet size. ### 6. Sudstainables Laundry Detergent Sheets: best 200-load fragrance-free box **Why it made the list** - Its listing says the sheets dissolve instantly in hot or cold water. - It describes them as gentle enough for baby clothes and sensitive skin, and as suited to travel, camping, RVs and dorms. - It says they work with fabric softeners and scent boosters. **Drawbacks** - Amazon's own summary is mixed on dissolving, with some saying the sheets do not dissolve at all. - The listing text we read names no certification or ingredient list. **Watch for this:** One more listing, in Fresh Linen, shares this page's total. **Skip it if** you want the maker to name its ingredients on the page. ## What we left out, and why Of the 120 cards we read, ten pages were read in full and six sheets became picks. Pods, pacs and tablets were set aside first. - **Biokleen Laundry Detergent Sheets.** Amazon's summary and two of the three positive snippets we read describe a liquid detergent, so its figures are not this sheet's. - **CLEARALIF, Poesie and InsoGreen sheets.** Each adds no need that the six picks do not already cover. This guide has no Wirecutter pick in the comparison table. ## Questions people ask ### Do laundry detergent sheets clean as well as liquid? Good Housekeeping says sheets overall still do not perform as well as the best liquid and pod detergents, though many now include enzymes, and tough stains are best treated first with a pre-wash spray. ### Do laundry detergent sheets dissolve in cold water? Good Housekeeping says every brand it compared states they work at any water temperature, and that every sheet dissolved fully in the machine after a full cycle. Amazon's summaries for several picks here are mixed on dissolving, so check the one you buy. ### How do you use laundry detergent sheets? Good Housekeeping says to put the sheet in the washing machine drum, not in the liquid tray, then add the clothes and run your usual cycle. Keep sheets dry, because wet hands or a humid cupboard will start to dissolve them. ### How did TwelveTabs choose these laundry detergent sheets? We compared the Amazon results for one search phrase, set aside pods, tablets, sponsored repeats, scent and size variants and listings whose reviews describe another product, and read each finalist's page for its listed ingredients, dissolving claims and pack size. Each pick suits a different need. ## How we researched On October 1, 2026 we read 120 Amazon result cards for the phrase 'laundry detergent sheets' across two pages of results. AI set aside pods, pacs, tablets and sponsored repeats, set aside scent and size variants and listings whose reviews describe another product, read the pages of 10 finalists and chose six sheets and strips that differ in dissolving, ingredients and pack size. AI wrote this guide from that research. Listings change: we read them on October 1, 2026, and a scent, count, formula or seller may differ today. One review total covers a sheet across its scents and pack sizes, and the collector cut each listing bullet to about 200 characters, so a feature we do not name may still be in the full listing. ### Sources - [Good Housekeeping: Best Laundry Detergent Sheets](https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/what-to-buy/g41423872/best-laundry-detergent-sheets/) - [CNN Underscored: Best Laundry Detergent Sheets](https://www.cnn.com/cnn-underscored/reviews/best-laundry-detergent-sheets)
